The Chair Project began as an idea that I planned to complete alone. Very quickly, the project grew to involve many different people who provided invaluable advice and support along the way. Many thanks!!!!

First and foremost, I want to thank Professor Hugh O'Donnell. Through the course he teaches, Site Specific Design, Hugh paved the way for the Chair Project along with many other student projects around BU's campus. Projects include murals at Fitrec and in CFA's parking lot. Hugh is knowledgeable, supportive, and full of creative energy. I feel very lucky to have been your student, Hugh. Thank you so much!

Before starting with the Chair Project, I thought that 'the registrar' was a big anonymous office that dealt with grades, scheduling, and paperwork. This is very far from the truth! BU’s Registrar, Jeff Von Munkwitz-Smith, is a wonderful person who is constantly thinking about ways to improve the university. Thanks to Jeff, the Chair Project received the funding and approval needed to make it a reality. Colleen Dowling, the Assistant to the Registrar, is also an extremely helpful, patient, and kind person who provided assistance from beginning to end. Thank you also to Richard Rook, the Associate Registrar, who helped in the early stages of the project.

For many months, the School of Visual Arts at CFA generously housed the chairs during and after the painting process. Thank you so much Lynne Allen, Director of the School of Visual Arts, for your excitement, ongoing support, and for believing in me and in my project - even when it seemed like it would never end. Thank you also to everyone in the Visual Arts Department Office who helped over the months: Assistant Director,  Jeannette Guillemin; Exhibitions Director, Lynne Cooney; Department Administrator, Logen Zimmerman; and Administrative Coordinator, Beth Zerega. Thank you!!

When I started the Chair Project, there was a lot of technical information I needed to learn quickly. Mike Greenblatt, the School of Visual Art's Technical Associate, played a big role in helping me successfully complete the project. Mike generously shared his knowledge, provided supplies, and always made me smile. Thank you so much Mike!!

Varnishing the chairs proved to be a complicated task, requiring a seasoned professional. Thank you Jason Talbot, Artists for Humanity's Co-Founder and Special Programs Director, for taking on the challenging job.

Thank you very much to the talented photographers of the Chair Project, Kamen Kozarev and Zara TzanevWhen Kamen is not taking beautiful pictures, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard University's Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. Zara is a documentary photographer with a sharp eye who travels worldwide, capturing bold and skillfully composed photographs. Zara photographed the action shots of the chairs, after they were installed in CAS.

I'd also like to thank those who helped arrange the set up and logistics for the Chair Project. Thank you Lisa Doherty, Director of Facilities; Demka Fehric, Area Manager; Frederick Dusseault, Senior Specialist of Campus and Clinical Safety; and the many people at BU's Facilities Management & Planning.

To my loving husband, Andrew Sklar, thank you for your patience and help with creating this website.

And last but not least, thank you to all the dedicated and talented artists who contributed their time to make a beautiful chair (or two) for the Chair Project!! :)
